Job Description
Primary purpose of the job
To ensure the geometrical process holistically is monitored and controlled on all hang on
assembly & press parts in conjunction with cold and hot joining technologies conforming to
all customer specific requirements.
Key Performance Areas
Monitor and control the inputs and outputs from the geometrical processes, parameters
and adjust according to meet customer specifications using all applicable analysis tools.
Knowledge and Skills required.
Geometry analysis of single press and assembled parts (FMK & GOM inspect) correlating back to technology impacts,
Physical assembly part fixture adjustments to conform to customer requirements,
Applying customer car line co-ordinates methodology back to fixture to correct geometry,
Shim pack analysis and compliance,
Intec sealer effects on geometry outcome,
Hemming systems effects on geometry outcome,
Kuka robotics – monitoring and validations of programs & adjustments,
Micro sectioning analysis of sealer, hemming and the effect it has on geometry,
Communication skills,
Systemic problem solving and route cause analysis,
FMEA & Control plan applied methodology,
Advance problem solving and applied tools experience,
Time management,
Interpersonal skills,
Compiling of technical presentations applying methodical principals (Toolroom & customer),
Tool & fixture applied methodology,
Safety, quality and customer requirements driven,
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / NQF 4,
Tertiary education: National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / NQF 6
Artisan will be an advantage
Kuka programming 1,
Siemans PLC TIA Pro,
Minimum 10 years in automotive / vehicle manufacturing environment,
Minimum 3 years extensive experience in KUKA Robotics, hemming application &
Siemans PLC,
BMW customer specific requirements pertaining to the above technologies and processes,
5 Why, Ishikawa & 8D tools applied methodology.
